Carolyn Axley

Carolyn Axley is a Vice-President with Acumen Healthcare, LLC and has more than 30 years of consulting experience in ambulatory surgery, including facilitating and oversight of Governing Board organization and responsibilities, compliance and activities; fostering partnership dynamics and structure; and is experienced with Stark legislation/safe-harbors.

Ms. Axley specializes as well, in development and management of the clinical aspects of the Ambulatory Surgery Center solutions team. She assists clients in selecting and training administrators; ensuring ongoing state and federal regulatory compliance; preparing for and maintaining  accreditation, human resources and support of center management personnel.

As a former administrator, Ms. Axley has served in various clinical, developmental and managerial roles throughout her career.

Professional Experience

Ms. Axley is responsible for the oversight of operations for Acumen Healthcare contracted centers and for projects in development. She assists clients in recruiting and works closely with Administrators, Clinical Managers, and physicians to ensure efficient operations, quality control and risk management, optimum physician relations and superior patient care.  She manages development, facilitates committee and Governing Board structure and activities, bylaws, securing contracts for professional and ancillary services, assists with facility design, policies/procedures, human resources, compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing, accreditation and CMS certification.
